through USAID Donates an Additional US$500,000 for the Victims of TS
Noel
Santo Domingo – The US Embassy in the Dominican Republic through the US
Agency for International Development will donate an additional
US$500,000 for a new total of US$600,000 for the immediate and initial
response to damages caused by Tropical Storm Noel.
This new amount will be
used for emergency relief supplies to families located in the most
affected communities. The US Embassy assistance will be coordinated with
the Dominican Emergency Operating Center (COE).
In addition to these funds, USAID will distribute 6000 sheets, 6000
bottle water and 6000 personal hygiene kits in the most affected areas.
With the US$360,000 given by the Military Assistance and Advisory Group
(MAAG), the total assistance provided by the U.S. Embassy is about
$US1,000,000 as an initial response to Tropical Storm Noel. |
