American Citizen Services June 3 Outreach Visit to Santiago

The American Citizen Services unit of the U. S. Embassy is pleased to announce our next visit to Santiago on June 3 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  This event will take place in the Dominican-American Cultural Center Library located at Avenida Estrella Sahahla #101.

As before, U.S. citizens in the area will have access, by appointment, to consular services that are normally available only in Santo Domingo.  U.S. citizens will be able to renew passports and complete notarials.  No first-time passport applications or applications for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad will be accepted.  These must be applied for in Santo Domingo.  Someone will also be available to answer questions about Social Security and other U.S. federal benefits.

To renew your passport, you will need to schedule an appointment online at the following website: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/acs-e.html

If you need assistance or wish to make an appointment for a notarial service please call 809-731-4468 from Monday-Thursday, 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.  To make the appointment with the Federal Benefits Unit for all Social Security related issues, call phone number (809)731-4371 between 1:30 to 4:00 in the afternoon.  You must have the social security number of the person who worked in the United States under which you are making the claim.

When the passport schedule for the Santiago June 3 event is full, you will later be able to schedule online an appointment for the next Santiago visit on August 5.  Remember that you can always come to the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo if you have urgent travel needs.  U.S. citizens who have an appointment should arrive on time to ensure that their application can be accommodated before the consular team's scheduled departure.
