Group Travel

The Visa Information Center managed by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) now schedules appointments on the same day for groups of applicants interested in traveling to the United States for the same purpose or trip.

Group appointments can be made via e-mail to grupos.embassy@teletech.com or by calling the call center.

A group is defined as five (5) or more, non-family member applicants traveling to the same location for the same purpose.  Included in the definition of a group are:

  • Sports teams

  • Little league or youth teams, softball teams, tae-kwon-do, etc.

  • Musical groups

  • Religious groups

  • Cultural exchange groups

Groups must be explicit and identify themselves as such to the Visa Information Center operator if information is obtained by phone.  Groups which meet the above definitions and make multiple individual appointments vice a group appointment may be asked to reschedule via the e-mail group appointment system.

Group appointments blocks are scheduled Monday through Thursday and are limited to 30 individuals.  Groups with more than 30 members will be broken up and scheduled over multiple days.  Please note that due to high demand, groups should schedule their appointment at least 45 days prior to their proposed travel date.

In order to utilize the official Group Appointment System you will need to complete the following steps:

1.  Send a request for a group appointment via email to grupos.embassy@teletech.com.  The email subject line should read, “DOM: Group Appointment” and then the name of the group.  The body of the email should state the purpose of travel to the United States, the proposed travel date and what category of visa the group is applying for every member of the group.

2.  The Visa Information Center will then respond to the initial inquiry by sending the Group Appointment Applicant List in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format.  It is extremely important that all the required information is complete for every member of your group.  It necessary to provide for every applicant their complete surname, complete first name, passport number, date of birth and telephone number.

3.  Once the applicant list is completed, it should be sent via email to grupos.embassy@teletech.com.  Include in the email the Visa or MasterCard credit card information for the payment of US $1.50/applicant.  You will need to include the credit card number, expiration date and three digit CCV code found on the back of the card.  Those who prefer to deliver the payment information to the Visa Information Center operator orally over the telephone can call 011-52-477-788-7072.

4.  The group representative will then receive a confirmation email from the Visa Information Center with the appointment date, time and additional information concerning the visa application process.  Or if scheduled over the telephone, the operator will provide the aforementioned information.

5.  The group representative then has the responsibility to deliver all of the group’s individual application documents to the Consular Section at least three business days prior to their group appointment date.  Failure to pre-deliver the application documents will result in the group having to schedule for another appointment date and be charged for another group appointment.

6.  Group member substitutions can be made up to the three business days before the group appointment date.  The group representative will be charged the appropriate rate depending if the substitution was made via email or telephone call.

7.  Groups which do not have access to email or the Internet may schedule their group appointments at the Visa Information Center via live service operator at a cost of US $8.00/applicant by calling 011-52-477-788-7072.  The credit card payment information should be provided during the same call.

We must clarify that any abuse or negligence of this service will carry with it the exclusion of the institution, organization or entity from being able to utilize the group appointment system.  Abuses committed against the system include, but are not limited to, collecting unfair prices from the group members to schedule their appointment and providing the group appointment system’s telephone numbers to the general public.
