Welcome

Welcome to the American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo.  The United States government has no higher responsibility than to serve and protect its citizens, including those who reside or are temporarily abroad.  The ACS Unit provides a wide range of services to American citizens visiting or residing in the Dominican Republic.  We strive to render prompt, courteous, and efficient service to U.S. citizens, consistent with U. S. laws and regulations.  In order to allow the ACS Unit to better help and serve you, please register with us as soon as you arrive in the Dominican Republic. Any information you give us is completely confidential and will only be released when authorized by you to do so. Please use the links on the left to find further information on our services.

Important Note: Consular officers cannot act as travel agents, banks, lawyers, investigators, or law enforcement officers. Please do not expect them to find you employment, get you residence or driving permits, act as interpreters, search for missing luggage, or settle disputes with hotel managers. They can, however, tell you how to get help on these and other matters.
