The U.S. Consular Agency in Puerto Plata
provides emergency services to American Citizens residing in or
visiting the area around Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The
Consular Agency also does notarials and receives
applications for U.S. passports. Passport applications are
forwarded to the U.S. Consular Section in Santo Domingo (the
Consular Agency's supervisory post) for processing.
Hours of Operation
The U.S. Consular Agency in Puerto Plata is open to the public
Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, and from 2:00pm to
5:00pm except for
U.S. and Dominican holidays. For after-hours emergencies,
please call the Duty Officer at the U.S. Consular Section in Santo
Domingo, at (809) 221-2171, dial cero (0) and request to speak to
the Duty Officer.
